Bio

Jacob Bruggeman is a non-resident fellow at the Foundation for American Innovation and an incoming assistant professor at the Salmon P. Chase Center for Civics, Culture, and Society at the Ohio State University. He is an historian of the places where ideas, technology, and politics meet in modern American life and a current PhD candidate in history at Johns Hopkins University. He is currently completing a book manuscript, "Securing the System," that explains how hackers gave rise to a technopolitics that was integrated by businesses, government agencies, and cultural institutions in the late twentieth century—reshaping American political order in the process.
