Bio

Chris is a non-resident senior fellow at the Foundation for American Innovation. He is a noted veteran in the tech policy space and as an industry leader has built and led the Policy function at some of tech’s most iconic brands. Most recently, Chris has been a Partner at Craft Ventures advising the firm’s portfolio with regard to government relations, procurement strategies, public affairs, and social impact. In that role, Chris has been a senior adviser to Craft’s General Partner, David Sacks, now the White House AI and Crypto Czar.

Over the past several years, Chris has started and led the Government Relations and Public Affairs functions for 6 venture-backed companies. He has launched Lyft in over 72 municipal markets while building out the company’s federal policy function, advocated for small business while showing Zenefits' value to regulators, built support for the expansion of consumer and small business financial services at Block (fka Square), created room for innovation among regulators to launch a new approach to telemedicine at Hims & Hers, and garnered support for the expansion of digital banking solutions at Chime. For 30 years, he has honed his experience shaping how elected officials, regulators, and policy influencers view a wide range of issues.
