Bio
Andrew C. Johnston is a non-resident senior fellow at the Foundation for American Innovation. He is an associate professor of economics at the University of Texas at Austin and a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He previously served as senior economist at the White House Council of Economic Advisers. His research spans labor markets, unemployment insurance, education policy, and artificial intelligence. His work has appeared in the Journal of Political Economy, the American Economic Journal, and the Quarterly Journal of Economics, and his writing has been featured in The Wall Street Journal. He holds a Ph.D. in applied economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
