The Foundation for American Innovation (FAI) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2014 with a mission to develop technology, talent, and ideas that support a better, freer, and more abundant future. Ours is a politics of builders, hackers, and founders working to advance a more perfect union between technology and the American republic.

To further this mission, FAI is seeking a Program Associate or Manager. Reporting to the Director of Partnerships, this role encompasses a variety of support tasks essential for FAI’s success in program execution, fundraising, and operations. This full-time hybrid position is based in Washington, DC, and offers significant growth opportunities. We seek an energetic, motivated, and detail-oriented individual to enhance our capabilities and execute key priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operations (50%)
    • Support the executive director and chief operating officer with scheduling, calendar management, note-taking, and other tasks as requested.
    • Assist in the planning and execution of internal and external events.
    • Assist with office management and operations tasks as directed by the COO.
  • Fundraising (25%)
    • Maintain, update, and improve FAI’s CRM donor tracking system.
    • Assist with donor prospecting, meeting preparation, and strategy.
  • Programs (25%)
    • Assist with programmatic initiatives (e.g. fellowships, events, retreats, symposia, website) on an as-needed basis
    • Prepare documents, write marketing copy (tweets, LinkedIn posts, email drafts), and manage contractors for FAI’s flagship podcast

Qualifications:

  • Enthusiastic support for FAI’s mission and a keen interest in our community of builders, hackers, and policy experts.
  • Proven track record in operations, project/event planning and execution, internal stakeholder management, and successfully balancing competing priorities and projects on tight deadlines
  • Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and initiative.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and Google Docs/Drive collaboration.
  • Preferred but not required: Salesforce/CRM experience and prior experience with DC nonprofits.
